Chicago Bears host first McHenry County drive-in takeover at McHenry Outdoor Theater
The Chicago Bears brought a game-day atmosphere to McHenry County on Tuesday, drawing a sold-out crowd to the McHenry Outdoor Theater for what organizers said was the first Bears takeover in the drive-in’s 75-year history, abc7chicago.com reported. Fans packed the property decked out in navy and orange, while chants of “Bear Down” echoed across the venue.
Fans celebrate team connection in suburban McHenry
For many attendees, the draw was the chance to experience a Bears event outside of Chicago. Natalie Ryan told abc7chicago.com that she bought tickets immediately after hearing about the event because it sits five minutes from her house. Larry Hoffman praised the organization for reaching out to suburban fans, noting that it feels great to have the team come close to home. Mackenzie Barry added that the gathering successfully brought together supporters from throughout the area.
Organizers mark historic turnout for Golden Age Cinemas
Event marketing director Joe Cicero told abc7chicago.com that he had not seen an event like this where the Bears have come out to the McHenry area. Scott Dehn, president and owner of Golden Age Cinemas, emphasized that the sold-out turnout serves as a source of pride for both the theater and the local community. Dehn noted that the Chicago Bears coming to McHenry is a big deal for them.
