Bulgaria’s April 19 Elections: Voter Turnout Expected to Reach 68%

Sofia, Bulgaria – A recent survey by the Center for Analysis and Marketing indicates a strong likelihood of high voter turnout in Bulgaria’s upcoming parliamentary elections on April 19, 2026. Approximately 68% of eligible Bulgarian residents are expected to cast their ballots, potentially leading to a National Assembly comprised of five political formations.

Voter Intentions and Undecided Voters

The survey, conducted between February 17 and 24, 2026, among 1,010 adults, reveals a nuanced picture of voter intentions. Around 35% of respondents have already decided on a candidate, while just over 33% intend to vote but remain undecided. Approximately 14% are still weighing whether to participate, and 17.5% do not plan to vote.

Projected Political Landscape

According to the Center for Analysis and Marketing’s data, the political formation led by Rumen Radev, who served as president from 2017 to 2026, currently holds the lead with 33.7% support. GERB-UDF follows with 18.9%, while “Continue the Change – Democratic Bulgaria” garners 13.2%. The MRF–New Beginning party is projected to receive 10.3% of the vote, and Vazrazhdane is expected to secure 8.1%.

Other parties anticipated to potentially enter parliament include the “BSP-United Left” (3.6%), “Morality, Unity, Honor” (3.5%), “Greatness” (1.2%), “There Is Such a People” (1.2%), and the “Alliance for Rights and Freedoms” (0.5%).

Expected Voter Numbers

Yurii Pavlov, Director of the Center for Analysis and Marketing, estimates that between 3 and 3.2 million voters will participate in the upcoming elections. He noted an anticipated increase of 400,000 to 500,000 voters compared to previous elections, attributing this rise to increased participation from individuals who did not vote in the past, largely favoring Rumen Radev’s political formation.
