Calexico Recreation Department Announces Registration for 2026 Youth Basketball League
CALEXICO, CA – The Calexico Recreation Department is now accepting registrations for its 2026 Youth Basketball League, offering a chance for young athletes in grades 4 through 8 to develop their skills and compete on the court. Registration is $35 per player.
League Details
The league aims to blend skill development with competitive play, providing coaching from teen and adult volunteers focused on fitness, conditioning, and fundamental basketball techniques. Activities will be centered at the David Tessada Gym, located at 824 Blair Ave.
Divisions and Practice Schedules
- 4th – 6th Grade: Saturday practices from 1:00 p.m. To 2:30 p.m.
- 7th – 8th Grade: Saturday practices from 2:45 p.m. To 4:15 p.m.
Game Days
Games for both divisions will be held on Sundays, with specific tip-off times to be announced after teams are finalized. The season is slated to tip off in mid-March. Calexico Recreation Department states the league officially starts on March 14, 2026.

Parents and guardians can register their athletes online through the Calexico Recreation portal under the “Sports Leagues” tab or by scanning the official QR code on league flyers. Spaces are limited, so early registration is encouraged.
