Oman Club Wins Al Ajniha Handball Championship After Defeating Muscat

Oman Club Claims Inaugural Al Ajniha Handball Championship Title

Oman Club secured the Al Ajniha (Wings) Handball Championship title by defeating Muscat Club 23–16 in the final match. The tournament ran from October 26 to October 31 in Muscat.

HH Sayyid Nawaf Barghash Al Said, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Oman Club, presided over the final match. The Oman Club organized the event with support from Sports Wings Company and supervision from the Oman Handball Association.

Following the conclusion of the final, the chief guest honored the tournament’s referees, supporting institutions, and top performers. Officials awarded Muscat Club the second-place medals, while Oman Club received the championship cup and first-place medals.

Preparation for the 2026/2027 Domestic Season

The tournament served as a preparatory stage for the four participating teams—Oman Club, Muscat Club, Nizwa, and Al Khaboura. The matches readied the squads ahead of the 2026/2027 sports season, which kicks off with the Super Cup competition on November 8.

The upcoming Super Cup features Oman, A’Seeb, Nizwa, and Al Amerat clubs. For Oman Club, the tournament also provided vital match practice before the squad travels to the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Upcoming GCC Club Championship Campaign

Oman Club will head to Bahrain to participate in the 42nd GCC Club Championship, scheduled for November 21 to 30. The team competes in the second group alongside Bahraini Al Ahli, Qatari Al Rayyan, and Kuwaiti Kuwait clubs.
