Brown Women’s Soccer Players Honored with all-East Region Awards

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown women’s soccer senior Naya Cardoza and junior Joy Okonye have been named too the 2025 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I All-East Region First Team.

Naya Cardoza

Cardoza recently participated in World Cup qualifiers with team Jamaica. Throughout her career at Brown, Cardoza anchored the Bears’ defensive unit and earned unanimous First Team All-Ivy honors in 2025. She was recognized by TopDrawerSoccer, appearing on their Midseason Top 100 list and earning a spot on the TDS National Team of the Week in September.Cardoza started all 17 of Brown’s games, scoring seven goals – tied for the second most in the Ivy League. She was named to the Ivy All-Tournament team and received Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week honors twice.

Joy Okonye

Okonye led the Ivy League during the regular season with 19 total points and four game-winning goals, scoring seven goals overall.
