Cologne Carnival 2027 Song Releases Kick Off Early as Local Bands Debut New Tracks
The race for the official Cologne Carnival session hit is officially underway as local music groups release their latest tracks months ahead of the traditional November 11 kickoff, according to verliebtinkoeln.com. Bands including Druckluft, Kasalla, Brings, and Cat Ballou are staking their claims early, hoping to capture the ears and feet of revellers in the city’s packed pubs and concert halls for the 2026/2027 season.
Druckluft Follows Up Chart Success With New Single
Bonner brass band Druckluft is returning to the carnival circuit with a new single titled “11 von 11,” following their massive chart success in the previous session with “Karnevalsmaus,” which reached number one on the German single charts. Sänger Florian Hertel conceived the idea for the new track in December 2025 during a Christmas tour with the Höhner, recording initial ideas as a voice memo before writing the song with lyricist Mo-Torres, verliebtinkoeln.com reported. Unlike their previous hit, the band does not plan a mandatory choreographed dance for the new track, though they have scheduled eleven live appearances for November 11.
Brings and Cat Ballou Team Up for Joint Release
In a rare collaboration, two of Cologne’s most prominent musical acts, Brings and Cat Ballou, joined forces to record “Immer för immer,” a song celebrating solidarity, friendship, and cross-generational ties. The two bands previewed the song during an early joint pub concert at Eigelstein.
Domstürmer and Kasalla Celebrate Milestone Anniversaries
The Domstürmer are marking their 20th anniversary with new releases including the high-energy party track “Ich jonn als ich” and the more reflective ballad “Karussell,” while Kasalla is celebrating 15 years as a band with their studio album, “Trone un Konfetti,” featuring both the title track and their new love letter to the city, “Ich liebe diese Stadt,” alongside major anniversary concerts performed at local venues.
Klüngelköpp Launch Alaafbereitschaft and Plan Public Service Tribute
The Klüngelköpp joined the session lineup with “Alaafbereitschaft,” a wordplay combining the standard alarm alert with the traditional carnival cry.
