Costa Rica’s Women’s Table Tennis Team to Compete at Historic London 2026 World Championships

The Costa Rican Women’s Table Tennis team has secured a coveted spot at the ITTF World Team Table Tennis Championships Finals London 2026, marking a significant milestone for the nation’s table tennis program. The invitation from the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) commemorates the 100th anniversary of the first World Championship in the sport.

A Century of Competition

The 2026 championships hold special significance as they celebrate a century since the inaugural World Table Tennis Championships were held in London in 1926. The event will feature 64 men’s and 64 women’s teams competing for the world title over 13 days.

Costa Rican Representation

Representing Costa Rica will be Lucía Zavaleta Ovares, Amanda Jiménez Moraga and Victoria Castro Salas. According to the Costa Rican Table Tennis Federation (Fecoteme), the team’s selection has been met with excitement within the country’s table tennis community.
