Cypris Launches Specialized R&D Intelligence for Microsoft Copilot

Cypris launched Cypris Q for Microsoft Copilot, integrating its specialized R&D and innovation research streams directly into the Microsoft environment. According to the company, the integration allows corporate research teams to deploy specialized Cypris agents straight from Copilot to run complex technical tasks, including prior art searching, technology scouting, and patentability assessments.

Specialized R&D Intelligence Inside Copilot

Enterprise teams frequently rely on general-purpose AI platforms, but technical research requires domain-specific data and methodologies. Cypris addresses this gap by bridging its intelligence layer with Microsoft Copilot. Users can prompt Copilot to initiate a Cypris agent for intellectual property or research workflows. The agent then queries the proprietary intelligence layer, applies specialized research rules, evaluates source evidence, and delivers an attributed, structured response directly within the Copilot interface.

The system is built to function as a domain expert rather than a generic text generator. Instead of serving as a basic search add-on, Cypris agents determine which technical sources to query, perform multi-step investigative routines across proprietary data sets, and synthesize findings into actionable reports complete with source attribution.

Supported Workflows and Data Infrastructure

The integration supports a wide range of specialized corporate use cases, reducing the time required for rigorous technical analysis.

  • Prior art and patentability searches
  • Technology scouting and white-space analysis
  • Competitive intelligence and corporate activity tracking
  • Concept ideation and initial validation
  • Stage-gate research and project risk mitigation
  • Chemical, scientific, and regulatory literature reviews

These capabilities draw on a data layer containing more than 600 million distinct data points. This repository spans global patent filings, scientific literature, chemical compounds, regulatory documents, commercial data sets, and active enterprise records.

Agent-to-Agent Architecture and Security

Under the hood, the integration relies on an agent-to-agent architecture and the Model Context Protocol (MCP). This technical framework connects Microsoft Copilot securely to the Cypris agent infrastructure. By using MCP, organizations can introduce specialized research capabilities without compromising their existing Microsoft security, governance, or administrative workflows.
