Delta Expands Austin Flight Network with New Phoenix and Bozeman Routes
Delta Air Lines is bolstering its presence at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) with the addition of new nonstop service to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) and expanded service to Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport (BZN). The airline announced the route expansions on Friday, March 21, 2026, signaling continued growth in the Central Texas market.
Austin to Phoenix: Twice-Daily Nonstop Flights
Beginning November 9, 2026, Delta will launch twice-daily nonstop flights between Austin and Phoenix, operated by Delta Connection using Embraer 175 aircraft. KXAN and Delta News Hub both reported on the new route. This new service will connect travelers to Arizona’s Sonoran Desert, offering access to destinations like Scottsdale and Sedona, as well as a vibrant culinary scene and championship golf courses.
Bozeman Service Expanded for Winter Ski Season
Delta will also extend its Austin–Bozeman route into the winter season. The route, which initially launched on June 13, 2026, with Saturday-only service, will transition to daily service from December 19, 2026, through March 28, 2027. According to Delta, this expansion caters to travelers seeking access to Montana’s ski resorts, including Big Sky Resort, and Yellowstone National Park’s winter scenery.
Delta’s Growing Investment in Austin
“Austin continues to be an important and growing city for Delta,” said Amy Martin, Delta’s Vice President of Network Planning. “By adding service to Phoenix and expanding our Bozeman route into the winter season, we’re giving customers in Austin even more access to top requested destinations while strengthening connections to key business markets across the West.”
Delta is actively expanding its operations in Austin, with plans to add flights this year to Asheville, North Carolina; Columbus, Ohio; Kalispell, Montana; and Kansas City, Missouri. The Austin American-Statesman reported that Delta began its first international service from Austin to Cancun and Cabo San Lucas last year.
Austin Market Share and Future Growth
By summer 2026, Delta expects to operate 63 peak-day departures from Austin, an increase of five compared to summer 2025. The Statesman noted that Delta ranked No. 2 in the Austin market last year, behind Southwest, carrying 3.8 million passengers. The airline also opened a flight attendant base in Austin in October and anticipates controlling 15 gates upon completion of the Austin-Bergstrom expansion in the early 2030s.
