Indonesia Targets 7 Percent Investment Growth by 2027
Finance Minister Suahasil Nazara called on the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) on Friday, October 30, 2026, to steer investment growth toward a 7 percent target by 2027, according to ANTARA News. Speaking at Kadin’s National Leadership Meeting (Rapimnas) in Jakarta, Nazara stated that the push is essential to help propel the broader national economy toward a 6 percent overall growth trajectory.
The state budget accounts for roughly 14 to 15 percent of Indonesia’s Gross Domestic Product, leaving the private sector responsible for driving the bulk of economic expansion. Nazara noted that state fiscal policy functions primarily as a catalyst to preserve purchasing power, finance critical infrastructure, and bolster market confidence.
Alongside traditional budget allocations, the government is utilizing the state investment agency Danantara to mobilize private capital and unlock commercial opportunities. Speaking earlier at the Danantara Technology Innovation and Investment Forum on October 26, Nazara described the state budget and Danantara as two coordinated hands advancing the national development agenda.
Kadin Deploys Operational Strategies Against Global Turbulence
Wrapping up its Rapimnas conference, Kadin Indonesia introduced three core recommendations focused on reinforcing economic buffers, securing industrial raw material supplies, and cementing business certainty. Kadin Chairman Anindya Novyan Bakrie told reporters that joint public-private action is necessary to navigate volatile geopolitical friction, climate shocks, and financial market tremors.
To execute these policy recommendations, the business lobby is rolling out an operational 5D strategy. The framework covers fiscal discipline and decentralization, deregulation, operational debottlenecking, utilizing Danantara as a strategic investment anchor, and structured capacity upgrades for micro, small, and medium enterprises. Kadin has also established eight specialized task forces subjected to rolling quarterly performance reviews to oversee priority economic sectors throughout 2027.
During the conference, Kadin showcased domestic commercial involvement across 77 premier global brand networks, including Airbus, Boeing, and Nike. A Kadin leadership delegation plans to meet with President Prabowo Subianto to formally present the Rapimnas findings and institutionalize Indonesia Incorporated, a structured partnership uniting state authorities and commercial operators.

Managing State Budget Credibility Amid Rising SBN Yields
As the government presses for higher private investment, financing costs face upward pressure. VOI.ID reported that State Securities (SBN) yields reached 7.64 percent, prompting Finance Minister Suahasil Nazara to address budget integrity at the Kadin meeting.
Nazara assured business leaders that the credibility of the State Budget remains safeguarded through careful management of budget financing and spending flexibility. As of September 30, 2026, the government realized debt financing of IDR 494.3 trillion, or 59.4 percent of the full-year target of IDR 832.2 trillion. SBN issuance reached IDR 497.5 trillion, representing 62.2 percent of its targeted IDR 799.5 trillion.
The Ministry of Finance adjusts its SBN issuance strategy opportunistically based on bond market conditions and global economic dynamics to maintain financing cost efficiency. To support the broader 2027 growth targets, Nazara emphasized that the government remains focused on ensuring adequate liquidity, maintaining competitive financing costs, and enhancing regulatory consistency for long-term operational certainty for investors.
