DIAVOLO’s ‘ESCAPE’ Offers Intimate Appear at Acrobatic Dance
Los Angeles-based dance company DIAVOLO is bringing back its immersive performance, ‘ESCAPE,’ for a limited engagement from March 28 to June 14, 2026. The 70-minute demonstrate offers audiences a unique, up-close experience with the company’s signature gravity-defying choreography, set within the intimate space of L’ESPACE DIAVOLO.
A Unique Immersive Experience
‘ESCAPE’ distinguishes itself by seating only 90 people within L’ESPACE DIAVOLO (616 Moulton Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90031), DIAVOLO’s black box performance space. This allows audience members to be just 5 feet away from the performers and the architectural structures that define DIAVOLO’s work. The performance includes pre- and post-show interactive opportunities, allowing guests to engage with the structures and experience movement alongside the company’s dancers. Guests are guided by DIAVOLO company members to participate directly with the show’s elements.
Exploring Themes of Resilience and Community
The performance explores themes of danger, survival, resiliency, and community, featuring 22 artists interacting with DIAVOLO’s custom-made architectural structures. The show is propelled by a soundtrack spanning multiple decades and genres, including pop, EDM, and rock from the 1970s to the present. Founder and Creative Director Jacques Heim aims to break down the barriers between performers and audience, offering a raw and visceral experience.
