Yokohama, Japan – February 19, 2026 – Arc System Works Co., Ltd. Has announced Donutal, an alien interrogation adventure game scheduled for release on Steam in 2026. A playable demo is currently available, and players are encouraged to add the game to their wishlist on Steam.

Uncover Alien Intentions Through Conversation

Donutal places players in the role of a Chief Xeno Inspector in the year 2206. Set at the International Space Port – built on the site of the former International Space Station – the game tasks players with screening aliens arriving on Earth. The inspector awakens from a 150-year cryosleep burdened with a significant debt and hampered by amnesia, yet responsible for determining who gains entry to Earth.

The Fate of Earth Rests on Your Decisions

As Earth seeks assistance from technologically advanced alien civilizations to resolve global crises, players must discern genuine visitors from those with hidden agendas. The game emphasizes that incorrect screening decisions could have catastrophic consequences for the planet. Players screen groups of up to eight aliens, analyzing their information and conducting interrogations to uncover the truth.

Simultaneous Interrogation and Dynamic Conversations

A key gameplay mechanic involves summoning up to two aliens into the interrogation room simultaneously. The interactions between these aliens – whether they are allies, enemies, or strangers – will dynamically change based on their relationships and species, potentially revealing crucial information and exposing hidden motives. The game emphasizes that “conversation is your tool,” with no reliance on traditional paperwork.

Daily Routine and Consequences

Players begin each day by reviewing the news, then proceed to interview aliens and craft entry decisions. The game features a dynamic system where the consequences of these decisions are reported in the following day’s news, impacting the state of the planet. The ultimate goal is to repay the inspector’s debt and potentially return to Earth, but whether Earth will still exist depends entirely on the player’s choices.

Meet the Characters

• DOLPHIN – An android assistant providing training and support, but lacking the authority or moral compass to make judgment calls.
• Martian – Adapted to the Martian atmosphere, these aliens absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen, and are incapable of lying due to a lack of social filters.
• Pictor – A technologically superior species considered potential saviors of Earth, possessing vast knowledge and a reputation for reliability.
• Octo – Intelligent and honest aliens with a unique manner of speech, sharing a genetic link with the hostile Takoo species.

The game promises the appearance of many other unique aliens that challenge human understanding.
