Pale Fire Capital’s Dušan Šenkypl Named EY Entrepreneur of the Year Czech Republic
Prague, Czech Republic – Dušan Šenkypl, founding partner of Pale Fire Capital, has been awarded the prestigious EY Entrepreneur of the Year Czech Republic title. The announcement recognizes Šenkypl’s leadership in building a successful investment firm with a diverse portfolio of technology companies, including significant holdings in Groupon, ROUVY and itrinity.

Pale Fire Capital’s portfolio encompasses over twenty technology companies with a global presence, primarily focused on e-commerce, digital services, and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions. The firm’s investments span multiple sectors, demonstrating a commitment to innovation and growth.
Key Investments
- Groupon: Pale Fire Capital is the largest shareholder in Groupon, and under Šenkypl’s leadership as CEO, the company underwent a significant transformation, increasing its value. Jiří Ponrt, another Pale Fire Capital partner, serves as Groupon’s CFO.
- ROUVY: Pale Fire Capital acquired a major stake in VirtualTraining, the Czech company behind the ROUVY indoor cycling and running software application. The investment, valued at tens of millions of U.S. Dollars, aims to propel ROUVY to become the #1 global mobile application for virtual cycling and running. Gran Fondo Guide reported a $6 million investment in 2026.
- itrinity: Pale Fire Capital holds a stake in itrinity, a technology company specializing in SaaS businesses. Itrinity has achieved over 30% year-on-year EBITDA growth for the past seven years and serves over 7 million users, including major corporations like Apple, Cisco, BMW, and NASA.
- Mubi: Pale Fire Capital also invests in Mubi, the leading online insurance comparison platform in Poland.
EY Entrepreneur of the Year Recognition
