Lee, who originally stepped into the role ahead of the 2022 season, will continue guiding the orchestra’s artistic direction and programming.

Since taking over the podium in 2022, Lee has broadened the orchestra’s repertoire by introducing contemporary works, including pieces by composers Unsuk Chin and György Kurtág, according to the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra. Alongside modern classical programming, Lee has spearheaded collaborations with jazz and crossover artists to engage wider audiences. The orchestra’s profile has also grown through invitations extended to world-class soloists, such as pianist Yekwon Sunwoo and violinists Clara-Jumi Kang and Stefan Jackiw, according to the ensemble.
