Eric Dane Death Sparks Backlash as Former ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Extra Accuses Him of Bullying
The recent passing of actor Eric Dane, known for his role as Dr. Mark Sloan in “Grey’s Anatomy” and Cal Jacobs in “Euphoria,” has been met with an outpouring of tributes from former colleagues. However, the news also prompted a former background actress, Laura Ann Tull, to publicly accuse Dane of bullying and allege she played a role in his departure from the long-running medical drama.
Accusations Surface After Dane’s Death
Tull shared her allegations on the social media platform Threads, calling Dane a “bully and an a**hole” and claiming she contacted producers at Shonda Rhimes’ production company, leading to his exit from “Grey’s Anatomy” in 2012. She stated, “I am why he was fired from ‘Grey’s,’” and claimed to have contacted Rhimes’ assistant two weeks before the announcement of his departure Page Six.
Backlash and Criticism
Tull’s comments were met with significant backlash online, with many users criticizing her for airing grievances after Dane’s death. Critics labeled her actions as insensitive and questioned the timing of her accusations, particularly given Dane’s recent battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) Parade. Some social media users accused Tull of seeking attention and questioned the veracity of her claims, noting her name does not appear on her IMDB page Yahoo.
Previous Allegations and Claims
This is not the first time Tull has publicly accused Dane of mistreatment. She previously wrote about her experiences in a 2018 essay on Medium, alleging that Dane made disparaging remarks towards her. According to Tull, she received an email from a SAG-AFTRA representative detailing Dane’s alleged comments Bored Panda. She also claimed that Patrick Dempsey, another “Grey’s Anatomy” star, made similar comments about her.
Dane’s Passing and ALS Battle
Eric Dane passed away on February 19, 2026, at the age of 53, after being diagnosed with ALS in April 2025.
