Félix Ķiģelis Announces Rare Two-Part Anniversary Concert in Riga
Latvian musician Félix Ķiģelis will stage a two-part concert titled “Songs from My 50s” at the Palladium Rīga concert hall on February 20, 2027, 1188.lv reported. The event follows the artist’s 50th birthday in February 2026 and a subsequent tour that drew requests from fans for deeper cuts outside his standard setlists.
The musician and his band compiled a list of nearly 50 requested tracks, a volume too large for a single standard-format evening. The decision split the material into two distinct programs, allowing attendees to experience either half or stay for both with an intermission between sets.
“We thought about it with the guys and decided to divide the whole volume into two parts,” Ķiģelis told 1188.lv. “Those who attend either of the two concerts will receive 100% pure-blood ‘Liepāja rock’ energy.”
Fans purchasing tickets to both segments will hear more than 20 additional tracks after the first performance concludes. The program features songs that have rarely appeared in recent live shows, including “Velvet,” “Words,” and “Deep in the Abyss,” alongside compositions by Ēriks Ķiģelis such as “Titmouse,” “Stork,” and “Electric Fish.”
Bridging Generations of Liepāja Rock Tradition
The double-header functions as a tribute to the Ķiģelis family musical legacy, bridging two generations of songwriting within the Liepāja rock tradition. The performance will also preview material from Félix Ķiģelis’s upcoming studio album, which is scheduled for release in the second half of 2027.
Bandmates joining Ķiģelis on stage include Armands Zviedris, Ralfs Bergmanis, Mārtiņš Leja, and Matīss Bērzs. According to the artist, this specific double-concert format is a one-time occurrence and will not be repeated. Tickets are currently available through Biļešu Paradīze.
