Topcon and Fixposition Collaborate to Enhance GNSS Positioning with AI-Powered Technology

LIVERMORE, Calif. — February 16, 2026 — Topcon Positioning Systems and Fixposition have announced a collaboration agreement to integrate Fixposition’s advanced visual positioning technology into Topcon’s next-generation Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) solutions. The partnership aims to improve positioning accuracy, particularly in challenging environments where satellite connections are unreliable.

Addressing GNSS Challenges with Visual RTK

The collaboration focuses on leveraging Fixposition’s expertise in Visual Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) and visual-aided positioning. These technologies augment traditional satellite positioning, offering benefits in environments like dense urban areas, indoor spaces, and during transitions between indoor and outdoor settings. According to Ron Oberlander, head of the Topcon Geomatics Platform, this integration will help customers maintain productivity even when satellite signals are weak or obstructed.

“Fixposition offers technology that augments satellite positioning, beneficial for users even while working inside structures and in indoor-outdoor transitions, without disrupting workflows by combining RTK GNSS with artificial intelligence to ensure position accuracy,” Oberlander stated.

xFusion Technology and AI Integration

Fixposition will provide its xFusion technology, a vision and multi-modality fusion positioning system, to support Topcon’s new GNSS solutions. This technology combines RTK-GNSS with artificial intelligence (AI) to ensure positioning accuracy. Zhenzhong Su, CEO and co-founder of Fixposition, expressed pride in supplying this technology.

“We’re proud to supply Fixposition’s xFusion, vision and multi-modality fusion positioning technology to support Topcon’s next-generation GNSS solutions,” said Su.

Geo Week 2026 Announcement

The collaboration agreement was announced at Geo Week 2026, held in Denver, Colorado, February 16-18, 2026.

Existing Relationship

This collaboration builds upon an existing relationship between the two companies. Fixposition has been integrating Topcon RTK corrections into its Vision-RTK sensors since 2023, providing Fixposition customers in North America and Europe with access to the Topnet Live RTK corrections service network.

Expanding Capture Reality Portfolio

In a separate announcement also made on February 16, 2026, Topcon introduced the CR-S1, a handheld scanning system that combines LiDAR, panoramic cameras, visual SLAM cameras, and a GNSS antenna. The CR-S1 will be showcased at Geo Week 2026 and is designed for surveying, construction, and other applications requiring detailed 3D data capture.
