Samsung’s next flagship phone, the Galaxy S27 Ultra, is expected to carry a 5,700 mAh battery, up from the 5,000 mAh cell in the Galaxy S26 Ultra, according to Uzone.id and ANTARA News. The larger battery arrives alongside a redesigned horizontal camera module that may render existing Galaxy S26 Ultra cases incompatible, MerahPutih.com reported. Chipset Assignments Vary by Model
The database indicates a chipset split across the series. The Galaxy S27 Pro would run the standard Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, while the Galaxy S27 Ultra would use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, CNN Indonesia reported, citing Phone Arena. The base Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27+ are listed with Samsung’s own Exynos 2700. Regional differences remain possible: CNN Indonesia noted that devices sold in the United States will likely keep Snapdragon chips, while a previous report from leaker Ice Universe suggested the Galaxy S27 Ultra sold in South Korea could instead use the Exynos 2700.
Ultra Adopts a Horizontal Camera Module
Design mockups built from leaked CAD files show the Galaxy S27 Ultra moving away from the vertical camera layout used on previous Ultra models, according to MerahPutih.com and Uzone.id. The new module stretches horizontally across the upper back of the phone, with lenses that protrude slightly. The shift in position leaves more open space below the camera area, which Uzone.id suggested could make it easier to attach magnetic accessories such as battery packs. Because the camera cutout moves upward, cases designed for the Galaxy S26 Ultra likely will not align with the new model.
Pro and Ultra Add Privacy Display and Brighter Panels
ANTARA News reported that the Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra will extend Samsung’s Privacy Display feature beyond the Ultra line for the first time. The feature narrows the viewing angle of the screen so content cannot be seen from the side, and it can be toggled on or off or limited to specific apps. Both models are also expected to use Samsung’s newer M16 OLED panel with higher brightness for outdoor visibility, while the base Galaxy S27 and S27+ will use the M14+ panel, CNN Indonesia reported. The base S27 and S27+ are expected to be limited to 12GB/256GB and 12GB/512GB. On cameras, ANTARA reported both Pro and Ultra will pair a 200MP main sensor with a 50MP ultrawide and a 16MP front camera, but differ on telephoto: the Pro may carry a 10MP or 12MP sensor, while the Ultra gets a 50MP sensor with 5x optical zoom. Base Galaxy S27 Certified in India With 25W Charging
The base Galaxy S27 has passed India’s Bureau of Indian Standards certification under model number SM-S952B/DS, Telset.id reported. The NBD database lists a 6.3-inch display, Exynos 2700 chipset, 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Telset.id noted that certification records from China’s 3C and UL Solutions confirm 25W charging, which would be unchanged from the Galaxy S26. The outlet also reported rumors that the main camera could switch to a 50MP Sony sensor, replacing the previous setup, while a 12MP ultrawide and 10MP telephoto may remain.
