Genoa Beach Club Fined €3,600 for Safety and Licensing Violations

Local authorities in Genoa shut down a Corso Italia beach establishment early Sunday morning after discovering an unauthorized party with roughly 120 guests, high-volume music, and multiple safety violations, according to local enforcement agencies. The joint inspection, conducted by the local police, fire department, and personnel from Asl 3, interrupted the gathering just before 1 a.m.

Missing Licenses and Administrative Violations

Inspectors found that the venue lacked the proper license for dancing activities. According to police reports, operators also failed to secure the required permit for serving food and beverages past the hours authorized by the certified business startup notice, known in Italy as a Scia, which restricted operations to the daytime opening hours ending at 8 p.m. Additional infractions included missing breathalyzer equipment and corresponding charts, an unposted price list, and a lack of clearance for the sound system. Officials issued approximately 3,600 euros in total fines to the establishment.

Fire Safety and Structural Deficiencies

The fire department identified serious structural and safety shortcomings during the inspection. According to official findings, the venue lacked adequate access control and emergency exit routes were not properly marked. Inspectors also noted that the kitchen area lacked proper compartmentalization and ventilation, while required compliance declarations for the installed systems were missing.

Broader City Inspections

The operation formed part of a wider administrative, health, sanitation, and workplace safety crackdown across Genoa’s eastern districts. According to enforcement officials, the sweep also targeted a venue on Via Rimassa, which authorities ordered to close immediately due to severe hygienic and sanitary deficiencies.
