During his program “The State of Things” Massimo Giletti showed the chats between Siegfried Ranucci e Maria Rosaria Boccia. The host said he was mentioned in a chat in which reference was made to one alleged gay lobby which would also include theformer secret service directorMarco Mancini, and the director of Il GiornaleTommaso Cerno, as well as, according to what Boccia wrote, Alfonso Signorini and a man identified as “Mr B”.
Giletti has firmly denied any affiliation, underlining that the term “lobby” implies the exercise of a power which he has always declared to oppose. Addressing Ranucci, he added: “You are not the only right one in the world, just as I am not. But dividing us at this moment is not right. For me it is a human disappointment“.
The replica by Ranucci arrived on social. The journalist clarified that he had never accused Giletti, arguing instead that the point, deliberately misunderstood, was another: according to him, Giletti and Cerno would be “linked to Marco Mancini, the former 007 involved in the Abu Omar case and in the illicit Telecom-Pirelli security dossier”. Ranucci accused both of having conveyed Mancini’s defensive positions without cross-examination, also in relation to the well-known meeting in a motorway restaurant with Matteo Renzialready the subject of an investigation by Report. Responding to Giletti’s words, Ranucci recalled having experienced a similar “human disappointment” first hand, when his colleague attempted to reveal a source from the programme, questioning its reliability.
The Forza Italia senator also spoke on the matter Maurizio Gasparriwho presented a parliamentary question. “Giletti has covered Ranucci with shame – he claimed – by telling the truth and contesting his homophobic attitudes”. Gasparri then asked Rai to clarify how it intends to intervene in the face of behavior which, in his opinion, violates the ethical principles of public service.
The senator responded to him 5 Star Movement Dolores Bevilacqua, who accused Gasparri of exploiting the affair. “It is sad, if not shameful, that a member of a majority that has often made homophobia a political flag clings to this issue,” he said, adding that Giletti cannot give lessons in coherence, having hosted Fabrizio Corona on the show a few weeks ago.
