“GOAT” Leaps to No. 1 at the Box Office, Stephen Curry’s Animated Hit Wins Weekend

Sony’s animated sports comedy, “GOAT,” featuring the voice of NBA superstar Stephen Curry, debuted at the top of the North American box office this weekend, earning an estimated $17 million, according to industry estimates IMDb. The film tells the story of a small goat with big dreams who aims to compete in the high-stakes world of “roarball.”

“GOAT” Outperforms “Wuthering Heights” and Other Modern Releases

“GOAT” edged out “Wuthering Heights,” the adaptation of Emily Bronte’s classic novel starring Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi, which took in $14.2 million in its second week of release Wikipedia. The film features original songs by Charli XCX.

Lionsgate’s “I Can Only Imagine 2,” a sequel centered around the popular Christian single, landed in third place with $8 million.
