Janine Teo Appointed General Manager of Gojek Singapore, Succeeding Lien Choong Luen
SINGAPORE – Gojek Singapore has announced the appointment of Janine Teo as its latest General Manager, effective immediately. She succeeds Lien Choong Luen, who stepped down in February after leading the ride-hailing platform for seven years.
Leadership Transition
Ms. Teo brings over seven years of operational leadership experience within Gojek to the role. Gojek stated that her in-depth experience makes her well-suited to lead the business forward, strengthening its platform for both driver-partners and consumers in Singapore The Straits Times.
Prior to this appointment, Ms. Teo held positions including country lead of driver experience and operations manager at Uber from 2017 to 2018, and head of supply in Singapore at GoTo Group, the parent company of Gojek, starting in 2020 The Straits Times.
Lien Choong Luen’s Departure
Mr. Lien Choong Luen’s departure comes after a period of increased competition, evolving regulations, and the challenges presented by the Covid-19 pandemic The Straits Times. He is now taking a sabbatical to focus on board positions, including his role as president of Singapore Athletics, and explore opportunities in the technology sector.
