Sudden Lights Triumph at Latvian Music Awards, Announces Extensive 2026 Concert Schedule

Latvian alternative rock group Sudden Lights has been named Album of the Year at the Golden Microphone awards for their album “īsas vasaras garas ziemas” (Short Summers Long Winters). The band is also gearing up for a series of concerts throughout Latvia in 2026, including a special concert film premiere in Riga.

Sudden Lights received the prestigious Album of the Year award at the Golden Microphone ceremony, recognizing “īsas vasaras garas ziemas” as the top album of the year Visit Ventspils. The Latvian Music Recording of the Year Award is supported by the Ministry of Culture and several other organizations.

2026 Concert Dates

The band has announced a series of concerts scheduled for 2026:

  • March 20, 2026: Sudden Lights Arena Concert Film Premiere, Forum Cinemas, Riga
  • April 18, 2026: Sudden Lights, Valmiera Olympic Centre, Valmiera

Recent Activity and Releases

Sudden Lights has been actively releasing music and performing. In February 2025, they collaborated with Estonian musician NOËP on the song “it drives me (out of my mind)” Sejas.lv. They also performed at the GAMMA Music Awards ceremony and participated in several music festivals, including warming up for Aminata’s concert at Palladium Sejas.lv. In November 2025, the band held a sold-out concert at the Xiaomi Arena Sejas.lv and performed a rendition of the Latvian diaspora song “Tauta tālumā” with the Riga Amber Choir Sejas.lv.
