Harry Styles Drops Action-Packed ‘American Girls’ Music Video

Harry Styles has released the music video for his novel single, “American Girls,” accompanied by the release of his fourth studio album, Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally, on March 6, 2026.

A Cinematic Stunt-Filled Visual

Directed by James Mackel, the video presents Styles as an actor on a film set, embodying the role of an action hero. The clip features a series of high-octane stunts, including a cross-country motorcycle journey, driving a sports car under a semi-truck, navigating a desert landscape, and performing a motorcycle flip against a sunset backdrop. The production relied on the expertise of two stunt doubles and green screen technology to achieve these effects.

Album Release and Upcoming Performances

“American Girls” appears on Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally, Styles’ first album in four years, following 2022’s Harry’s House. The album was created with frequent collaborators Kid Harpoon and Tyler Johnson.

To celebrate the album launch, Styles performed his first show in three years on March 6th at the Co-op Live arena in Manchester, England, debuting the entirety of Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally. The performance was filmed and will be available to stream on Netflix starting Sunday, March 8th at 3 p.m. ET.

Songwriting Inspiration

Styles revealed in a conversation with Zane Lowe that “American Girls” is a surprisingly personal song, reflecting on the experience of watching his close friends get married. He described the song as capturing the “magic” of finding a life partner and acknowledging the uncertainty and risk involved in such a commitment.

Tour Plans and Personal Reflection

Following the Manchester concert film release, Styles is preparing for a series of residencies in multiple cities, rather than a traditional global tour. He cited a Radiohead performance in Berlin as inspiration for this approach. He as well recently shared his reflections on the passing of his former One Direction bandmate, Liam Payne, describing it as a pivotal moment for self-assessment and clarifying his life priorities.
