Daniel Marco Antonio Flores-Mayorga and Ariana Yaeli Ruiz were arrested in Harris County, Texas, on charges of human trafficking and the promotion of prostitution. According to court records and law enforcement, the pair allegedly exploited a 15-year-old girl, forcing her into sexual servitude after she had been reported as a missing person.
The Investigation and Arrest
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office conducted an undercover operation on May 5, following an investigation into an online advertisement offering sexual services. Highway 69 corridor in North Houston.
According to the criminal complaint, undercover officers contacted the victim through the website where the services were advertised. Once the officers arranged a meeting, the victim was directed to enter a vehicle.
Investigators linked Flores-Mayorga to the operation after discovering he had rented the hotel room from which the victim was seen exiting. Evidence gathered from the victim’s mobile phone, including text messages, corroborated the victim’s statement that she was forced to provide sexual services to individuals selected by Flores-Mayorga.
Charges and Legal Consequences
Both defendants face serious felony charges related to human trafficking. Under Texas law, human trafficking of a minor is classified as a first-degree felony.
If found guilty, individuals charged with first-degree human trafficking in Texas face a sentencing range of five years to life in prison, in addition to potential fines reaching 10.000 $ per charge.
The Role of the Defendants
The investigation revealed roles allegedly played by the two suspects. Authorities assert that Flores-Mayorga was responsible for creating the online advertisements used to solicit clients. Prosecutors allege that Ruiz verified the age of the victim and compelled her to pose for provocative photographs used in the advertisements.
Following their arrests, the court set bond amounts at 200.000 $ for Flores-Mayorga and 100. 000 $ for Ruiz. The case remains under the jurisdiction of the Harris County justice system as prosecutors prepare for trial.
