Izzy Howe Named NSIC Pitcher of the Week
BURNSVILLE, Minn. – Winona State University softball pitcher Izzy Howe has been named the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Pitcher of the Week, the conference announced Monday. Howe’s performance was instrumental in the Warriors’ 4-0 showing at the Midwest College Classic.
Howe’s Dominant Performance
The junior from St. Charles, Illinois, went 2-0 with 22 strikeouts in 13.1 innings pitched during the classic. She recorded two shutouts, including a 6-0 victory over Missouri Western State and an 11-0 win against Fort Hays State. Against Missouri Western State, Howe struck out 14 batters, improving her season record to 6-0. She allowed only four hits and no earned runs throughout the week.
Elsenpeter Earns Player of the Week Honors
Bryn Elsenpeter was named NSIC Player of the Week after leading the Warriors’ offense. She hit .615 (8-for-13) with three home runs, six RBIs, and four multi-hit games. Elsenpeter also posted a .625 on-base percentage and a 1.385 slugging percentage, including going 2-for-2 with a home run and two RBIs against #23 ranked Pittsburgh State.
