Incheon Techno Park Expands K-Medical Device Market in Dubai Through Training Partnership
Incheon Techno Park (ITP) has partnered with Himchan UAE Center in Dubai to establish a ‘K-Medical Device Education Base,’ aiming to train medical staff in the Middle East and expand the reach of Korean medical device technology. The initiative focuses on enhancing clinical utilization of these devices within the region.
Strategic Collaboration for Market Expansion
On February 12th, ITP signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Himchan UAE Center (Himchan Medicare FZCO) in Dubai. This agreement builds upon the ‘Regional Domestic Medical Device Education and Training Support Center’ project, jointly promoted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and Incheon City. The collaboration will focus on developing and implementing specialized education and training programs for Middle Eastern medical professionals, utilizing domestically produced medical devices such as spinal endoscopy equipment.
Hands-on Training and Technology Showcase
Immediately following the agreement signing, the ‘Korea-Dubai Bidirectional Endoscopic Spine Surgery (UBE) Training Conference’ took place. Korean neurosurgeons served as instructors, providing practical, hands-on training to 15 UAE specialists. The training included a basic course utilizing dummy models, allowing participants to directly experience the precision and ease of use of the K-medical devices.
Featured Medical Devices
The training program featured general-purpose electrosurgical devices, specifically CNS Medical’s ‘Delphi’ and ‘Delphi Plus,’ alongside Endovision’s spinal endoscope equipment, ‘Endoscope.’ Participants demonstrated significant interest in the functionality of these devices during the training sessions.
Future Outlook
An ITP official stated that training medical staff in the use of K-medical devices will improve product reliability and drive continued demand. ITP plans to actively support the establishment of K-medical devices in the Middle East market through joint conferences and seminars.
