Jade Cargill Sets Sights on Charlotte Flair After WrestleMania 42 Match with Rhea Ripley

WWE Women’s Champion Jade Cargill has revealed that while she respects her upcoming WrestleMania 42 opponent, Rhea Ripley, her long-term focus remains on a clash with Charlotte Flair. Cargill shared her thoughts in an interview with Complex, expressing that a match against “The Queen” has been a dream of hers since joining WWE.

Dream Match with Charlotte Flair

Cargill, who won the WWE Women’s Championship from Tiffany Stratton in November 2025, acknowledged Ripley’s status as a top star but stated that Flair was always the WrestleMania opponent she envisioned. “One of the dream matches that I wanted to have, amongst others, was Charlotte Flair,” Cargill said. “And I thought that’s actually the opponent I was gonna face at Mania was the likes of Charlotte Flair. We’ve been teasing it for so long, and I think that’s a money-making match.”

She highlighted the potential for a compelling rivalry, noting the similarities in their personas. “I mean, she’s a queen in her own right and I am as well, and I think we have such similar aesthetics sometimes that I think it’s more of a like, who’s who? Like, who’s really like that queen?”

Looking Ahead to SummerSlam

Despite her focus on Flair, Cargill is fully prepared for her upcoming title defense against Ripley at WrestleMania 42. However, she has already set her sights on a potential showdown with Flair at SummerSlam. “Well, when I retain, we’re gonna, yeah, assuming that in the air…. I think well I would love to head on to face Charlotte at SummerSlam,” Cargill stated.

Cargill also acknowledged the possibility of Bianca Belair’s return and a potential storyline involving the three women. “But if Bianca returns, I don’t grasp what ‘cause the way the large three kind of split up was, like it was like a missing piece. So, I think it’s a storyline we need to embark on when everybody’s healthy and ready to go. I think everybody will desire to witness that storyline.”

Why Charlotte Flair?

Cargill explained her desire to face Flair stems from a desire to test herself against a formidable opponent. “It’s about breaking her. She’s stoic. Like I’m stoic, but she’s very like, you know, so I think it’ll be a great match. And I know Charlotte’s a woman for pulling people up and making them better. And that’s the people I want to work with.”
