Jenna Ortega’s Daring Look at the 2026 Actor Awards

Jenna Ortega turned heads at the 2026 Actor Awards, formerly known as the SAG Awards, with a striking and unconventional ensemble. The Wednesday star embraced a lingerie-inspired aesthetic, opting for a lacy cream-colored Christian Cowan slip dress paired with stockings, a look that deviated from the evening’s “Reimagining Hollywood Glamour From the ’20s and ’30s” theme.

A Lingerie-Inspired Ensemble

Ortega’s dress, from Christian Cowan’s Fall 2026 collection, featured delicate lace detailing, a plunging neckline, and a high slit. Women’s Wear Daily reports the dress showcased lingerie-inspired details and a flowing, slightly frayed fabric. She completed the look with Jimmy Choo shoes, Mikimoto jewelry, and gray stockings.

Awards Season Recognition

The Actor Awards appearance marked Ortega’s first awards show since the Golden Globes in January. She was nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series for her role as Wednesday Addams in the Netflix series Wednesday. However, the award in that category was posthumously presented to Catherine O’Hara for her work on The Studio, following O’Hara’s passing on January 30th at the age of 71 due to a lung embolism resulting from colon cancer.

A Star on the Rise

Ortega has become known for her distinctive style, particularly in connection with her roles in Wednesday and Beetlejuice Beetlejuice (2024). She began her career with minor television roles and gained recognition for playing younger versions of characters in Jane the Virgin and Harley Diaz in Stuck in the Middle, for which she won an Imagen Award. More recently, she has transitioned to more mature roles, including Ellie Alves in You and parts in the horror films Scream, X, and Scream VI.

Navigating Public Perception

In a July interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Ortega discussed the challenges of public perception and the feeling of being misunderstood. She expressed frustration with assumptions made about her and a sense of detachment from her public persona, stating, “I almost don’t even resonate with it anymore.”
