K-Lifestyle Startups Gain Global Traction with Pop-Up in Seoul
Seoul’s Seongsu-dong district is rapidly becoming a hub for Korean lifestyle brands seeking international expansion, as evidenced by the success of a recent pop-up store showcasing a diverse range of K-beauty, fashion, and wellness startups. The ‘FROM KOREA TO THE US’ pop-up, organized by Collab Korea, attracted over 1,000 visitors on its opening day, with advance reservations selling out within an hour .
A Showcase of Korean Innovation
The pop-up store, operating from March 13th to July 9th, features brands categorized into Premium, Standard, and Basic zones. The Premium zone highlights high-profile brands like Koreana cosmetics, Olywello wellness products, and merchandise related to the globally recognized K-pop group BTS .
The Standard zone includes brands such as Blink Eyelashes, Pixel Pure, Elegant, Hair Mana & Remirae (beauty), Grasmartine (jewelry), and Ponurev (household goods). The Basic zone features Musemark, Vanilla Taste, Oget and Odd Silk (beauty), Historic, Gonggongyuk and My Shopper (fashion), and Jenny Hong (health functional food) .
Expanding Global Reach
Collab Korea is not only facilitating exposure within Korea but too supporting participating companies in establishing a presence in Los Angeles, USA. The company plans to expand its pop-up model to other major shopping districts in Seoul, including Myeong-dong and Hannam-dong .
