KPK Reveals Pekalongan Regent’s Aide Was Director of Firm Implicated in Corruption

Jakarta, Indonesia – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has revealed that Rul Bayatun, the Director of PT Raja Nusantara Berjaya (RNB), was, in fact, the household assistant (ART) of Pekalongan Regent Fadia Arafiq. The revelation came during an investigation into alleged corruption surrounding procurement of goods and services within the Pekalongan Regency Government.

ART Served as Director

“The latest information we got was that he (Rul Bayatun) called it ART, right? The ART is FAR (Fadia Arafiq),” stated Asep Guntur Rahayu, the KPK’s Deputy for Enforcement and Execution, on Thursday, March 5, 2026 (Antara News).

Allegations of Financial Misconduct

The KPK investigation suggests that Rul Bayatun frequently received instructions from Fadia Arafiq to withdraw funds from the company account. According to KPK officials, these funds were then handed over to Fadia and other trusted individuals. (Suara.com)

“So RUL was only asked, ordered by FAR (Fadia Arafiq), for example, he needed so much money to withdraw cash, yes, withdraw him and hand over the money, then there were photos of him being handed over after withdrawing cash,” Rahayu explained.

Fadia Arafiq Named Suspect

On Wednesday, March 4, 2026, the KPK named Fadia Arafiq as a suspect in the alleged corruption case related to the procurement of outsourcing services and other goods within the Pekalongan Regency Government between 2023 and 2026. (Kompas.tv)

Fadia Arafiq is accused of establishing PT RNB, directing subordinates to ensure the company won procurement projects, and subsequently receiving billions of rupiah in profits. The KPK alleges a conflict of interest, as PT RNB secured numerous contracts within the Pekalongan Regency Government.

Financial Transactions and Alleged Losses

Between 2023 and 2026, PT RNB received IDR 46 billion (approximately $2.8 million USD) from contracts with regional government agencies in Pekalongan Regency. Of that amount, only IDR 22 billion (approximately $1.3 million USD) was used to pay the salaries of outsourced employees. The remaining IDR 19 billion (approximately $1.1 million USD) was allegedly distributed to Fadia Arafiq’s family. (NTV News)

Current Status

Fadia Arafiq is currently being detained for 20 days, from March 4 to March 23, 2026, at the KPK’s detention center. The investigation is ongoing, and further details are expected to emerge as the case progresses.
