GWD Minden’s Icelandic backcourt player, Aron Kristjánsson, expressed satisfaction with his recent performance against Minden but remains focused on continuous improvement. Despite scoring 16 goals in the match, Kristjánsson was notably frustrated by a missed seven-meter throw.

Recent Performance and Self-Critique

Kristjánsson acknowledged the importance of the game and his desire to perform better than in previous matches. He stated, “It was an extremely important game for us. I wanted to show a better performance than in the last few games. I expect more from myself and I’m just happy that I succeeded today.”

Prior to the match against Minden, Kristjánsson had scored three goals against Eisenach and zero against Flensburg, with five failed attempts in each game. In contrast, against Minden, only three of his shots didn’t find their target.

“Of course we have nothing to lose in Berlin. We showed at home last year that we can score points against Berlin. Of course they are the favorites, no question about it. But we are going there without stress and want to annoy them and hopefully, if everything works out, score points,” Kristjánsson ambitiously stated. He concluded by emphasizing the team’s desire to move upwards in the league table, stating they want to “look up rather than down.”
