Kyushu Netherlands Challenge Cup 2026: A Gateway for Young Footballers
Football Club Saga Co., Ltd., in collaboration with MVV Maastricht Football HUB, will host the inaugural “1st Kyushu Netherlands Challenge Cup in SAGA” on March 29th and 30th, 2026. This U-12 international development collaboration tournament aims to foster local soccer talent and provide a pathway to international training opportunities.
Tournament Format and Rules
The tournament will feature 16 teams divided into four qualifying groups, followed by a final tournament based on preliminary results. Matches will be 24 minutes long (two 12-minute halves). In the event of a draw, the winner will be decided by a penalty kick shootout. Competition rules will adhere to the JFA “Soccer Competition Rules” and “U-12s Regulations.”
Overseas Training Program
Outstanding players will be selected based on their skills, potential, and attitude. Selected athletes will be eligible for an overseas training and study program in collaboration with MVV Maastricht Football HUB. This program includes on-site training, evaluation by instructors, exposure to European coaching methods, and an immersive international football experience. Details regarding travel timing, program content, and associated costs will be communicated separately to eligible players after the tournament concludes.
More Than Just a Tournament: A Regional Event
The event is designed as a regional interaction sports event, offering experiences beyond the matches themselves. Attendees can enjoy food booths, company exhibits, partner club introductions, and workshops for children. The event aims to revitalize the region through sports and community engagement.
Brew Saga Farewell and Season Kick-off
On March 30th, a farewell party will be held for Brew Saga, who will be participating in the Kyushu Soccer League starting in April. Coach Yuji Obuchi will be present to discuss the team’s goals for the upcoming season. Brew Saga players will also support the tournament’s operations and related events.

The slogan “From Kyushu to the World” embodies the ambition to create opportunities for international soccer cultural exchange and develop a new tournament built by local communities, companies, and children together.

Football Club Saga Co., Ltd. was established in 1991 as FC.INAX Soccer Club and has undergone several transformations, becoming Brew KASHIMA in 2022 and Brew SAGA in January 2025.
