Lake Superior Figure Skating Club Sends Three Skaters to Provincial Championships

Hamilton, Ontario, will host three athletes from the Lake Superior Figure Skating Club (LSFSC) at the 2026 Skate Ontario Provincial Championships, taking place from March 20 to 22. Delaney Schumacher, Emily Arbour, and Erin Bagg have all qualified to compete in various events.

Skaters and Their Events

The LSFSC skaters will participate in the following disciplines:

  • Delaney Schumacher: Gold Women Free Program and Star 9 Women O14 Short Program
  • Emily Arbour: Star 7 Artistic
  • Erin Bagg: Star 5 Women O13 Free Program

A Remarkable Achievement

According to head coach and director of skating Kerry Bain, qualifying for the provincial championships is a significant accomplishment, based on rankings against skaters across Ontario. “Having three skaters qualify is a remarkable accomplishment. Our athletes have worked incredibly hard all season, and we’re very proud of each of them,” Bain stated in a press release.

Recent Successes

The qualification follows a successful weekend for the LSFSC, with skaters competing in both Copper Cliff and Thunder Bay. The club is proud of all its athletes and looks forward to supporting Schumacher, Arbour, and Bagg as they prepare for the Provincial Championships as reported by Sault This Week.
