Las Rozas Weekend Events: Theater, Music, and Family Activities

Las Rozas de Madrid offers a diverse cultural and leisure program this weekend, featuring theater, sacred music, family-friendly activities, and community events. The schedule includes performances, markets, and initiatives catering to all ages.

Theater: “Murder on the Orient Express”

The Centro Cultural Pérez de la Riva will host a performance of Agatha Christie’s classic mystery, “Murder on the Orient Express,” on Friday at 8:00 PM. Juanjo Artero stars in this adaptation, where Hercule Poirot investigates a murder aboard a snowbound train. Las Rozas City Council is presenting the play.

Sacred Music: Landarbaso Abesbatza Choir

The cycle of Sacred Music begins on Saturday with a performance by the Landarbaso Abesbatza choir at the Auditorio Joaquín Rodrigo at 8:00 PM. The choir will present a program of contemporary sacred music, blending spirituality, emotion, and innovative soundscapes. The repertoire features works by contemporary composers, including Basque artists, reinterpreting sacred traditions with a modern sensibility. Landarbaso Abesbatza is recognized for its quality and innovation in musical projects.

Family Activities and Community Events

Several other events are scheduled throughout the weekend:

  • Story Time: Libraries will host “Story Time” sessions for young children.
  • Exhibitions: Various exhibitions will be open to the public in municipal halls, offering free cultural experiences.
  • Brandy be Market: A market will be held on Calle Real on Sunday, featuring stalls, music, and activities for families.
  • Health and Wellbeing: The III Jornadas “Deporte y bienestar femenino” (Women’s Sports and Wellbeing Conferences) will take place.
  • Youth and Environmental Education: Environmental education proposals and activities for young people are likewise planned.

Additional Events

The weekend also includes a meeting between Pablo d’Ors and Gonzalo Rodríguez Fraile as part of the Plan de Salud Mental, and a conference on Contemplation and Spiritual Understanding.
