Navy Swimmer Lauren Walsh Competes at NCAA Championships

ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Navy swimmer Lauren Walsh is set to compete in the NCAA Swimming Championship on Thursday, March 18, 2026, at the McAuley Aquatic Center in Atlanta, Georgia. This marks Walsh’s first appearance at the national championship event. Navy Athletics confirmed her invitation on March 4, 2026.

Walsh’s Qualification and Event Details

Walsh qualified for the NCAA Championship by winning the 100-meter breaststroke at the Patriot League Championship with a time of 59.78 seconds. A time of 1:00.30 was required to earn an automatic berth to the championship.

She will compete in the 100-meter breaststroke, which is scheduled as the fourth event of the session. Trial heats begin at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time, followed by the championship finals at 6:00 p.m. Eastern Time. Live results and an ESPN+ broadcast of the sessions will be available at NavySports.com.

Walsh’s Swimming Background

Lauren Walsh committed to the United States Naval Academy in 2022, swimming for Trumbull High School in Connecticut, coached by Bill Strickland. SwimSwam reports she was a Connecticut Girls State Open champion in both the 200-meter individual medley (2:00.19) and the 100-meter breaststroke (1:01.04). She also competed with Rapids Swim Team under coaches Chuck Clark and John Spadafina.

Prior to her collegiate career, Walsh qualified for the U.S. Olympic Team Trials Wave I, winning the 100-meter breaststroke at the TYR 18&U Spring Cup in Richmond with a personal best time of 1:10.35.
