Media Figaro Doubles Down on Reputation as Core Strategic Pillar
As Le Figaro celebrates its bicentennial, its parent company, Media Figaro, is launching a new brand platform centered around the critical importance of reputation in a complex media landscape. The strategy, spearheaded by Digital Deputy Managing Director Karine Rielland-Mardirossian, focuses on four key areas: creativity, social media engagement, video content, and artificial intelligence.
Navigating a Complex Media Environment
The launch, developed in partnership with Altman Partners, addresses a media environment characterized by disinformation, declining trust, rapid technological advancements, and advertising saturation – with individuals exposed to approximately 1,200 messages daily. Media Figaro believes that a strong reputation is a company’s most valuable asset, driving both brand perception and performance.
Media Figaro’s Reach and Influence
Media Figaro leverages a portfolio of influential media brands, including Le Figaro, Madame Figaro, and Gala, alongside service-focused brands like Le Journal du Net, L’Internaute, and Journal des Femmes. The company’s strength lies in its ability to produce high-quality content, generating over 800 pieces of content daily from a team of more than 500 journalists across a hundred different contexts.
The company reaches 32 million unique visitors monthly and 7 million daily, and maintains a substantial social media presence with over 48 million followers. Investments in video content are also significant, exemplified by the launch of Figaro TV.
Strategic Pillars for 2026
Media Figaro’s strategy for 2026 is built upon four core pillars:
- Creativity: The integrated brand content agency, 14H, supported over 400 clients in 2025 with campaigns combining editorial, social, and digital platforms, particularly in the luxury, automotive, and finance sectors.
- Social Media: Social media currently accounts for 20% of Media Figaro’s revenue and remains a key growth area. Original creations, like the MAD brand, drive engagement, offering advertisers a 10-30% increase.
- Video: Media Figaro generates over a billion video streams monthly, including 500 million on its digital platforms. Figaro TV reaches nearly 2.6 million monthly viewers and 230,000 daily viewers.
- Artificial Intelligence: Media Figaro has launched API, Ad Planning Intelligence, a tool utilizing its data to provide post-campaign analysis and recommendations. The company is also exploring the use of AI for creative optimization and semantic positioning within Large Language Model (LLM) responses through its GEO medIA offering.
Open Web Strategy
While acknowledging the evolving landscape of the open web, Media Figaro prioritizes direct deals to maintain control over the advertising environment, ensure visibility, integrate creative elements, and demonstrate effectiveness through data and post-tests. The company emphasizes a “premium open web” approach, differentiating itself from lower-quality inventory.
Karine Rielland-Mardirossian and Industry Recognition
