President Prabowo Subianto invites all parties in the Republic of Indonesia to unite to create peace. Prabowo emphasized that a leader must not have feelings revenge to envy or find fault with others.

This was conveyed by Prabowo at the Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) One Century Mujahadah Kubro event at Gajayana Stadium, Malang, East Java, Sunday (8/2/2026). Prabowo talked about NU always trying to maintain national unity.

“Brothers and sisters, NU always sets an example. NU always tries to maintain unity. And that is the lesson of history. No nation is strong, no nation can progress if its leaders are not harmonious,” said Prabowo in his speech.

Prabowo said that Indonesian people can debate and compete but it is hoped that in the end they will always be harmonious. He emphasized the importance of maintaining national unity.

“Because of that, I always invite all elements to always unite. We can compete, we can compete, we can be different, we can argue, but in the end, all Indonesian leaders, all community leaders must be harmonious, must maintain unity and integrity,” he said.

He said history teaches that there is no prosperity without peace. Prabowo emphasized that peace would not be possible if the leaders were not united.

Prabowo also invited all leaders to be united and think only in the interests of the people. He said that a leader should not always look for other people’s faults.

“Leaders at every echelon, political leaders, economic leaders, intellectual leaders, all must think, think, think, fight, serve for the interests of all the Indonesian people,” said Prabowo.

“Leaders cannot have grudges, leaders cannot have hatred, leaders cannot have envy, leaders cannot always find fault with the other side,” he continued.

He then included Javanese philosophy which teaches that there should be no feelings of hatred and revenge. Prabowo emphasized that what should be done now is to seek common ground and deliberation.

“Our teachers, our kiai, our ancestors taught us to always ‘mikul dhuwur mendhem jero’. There should be no feelings of hatred, no feelings of revenge. Differences are no problem. After being different, look for unity, look for similarities, deliberation to reach a consensus. That is the personality of the Indonesian nation,” he added.
