Three Injured in Military Police Chase on A2 in Limburg

Three people were injured on Saturday after a vehicle fled from the Marechaussee (military police) and subsequently crashed on the A2 highway in Limburg, Netherlands. The incident began with a failed traffic stop near the border crossing in Eijsden.

Details of the Chase and Crash

According to reports from Hart van Nederland and NU.nl, the Marechaussee attempted to pull over a car with Belgian license plates in Eijsden. The driver ignored the stop signal, initiating a pursuit.

During the chase, the driver allegedly attempted to ram the Marechaussee vehicles, though this was unsuccessful. The pursuit continued onto the A2 highway before the driver lost control near Sint Joost. The vehicle overturned and came to rest in a grassy area.

Injuries and Investigation

All three occupants of the vehicle sustained injuries and were transported to a hospital for treatment. The extent of their injuries is currently unknown. De Limburger reports that the reason for the initial flight remains under investigation.
