Thes groups offer a safe space for individuals to share experiences, find emotional support, and learn about resources available to them.</p>

<p>Selma Körner, a voice for cancer awareness, emphasizes the need for broader public education. she notes that a common misconception is viewing a cancer diagnosis as a death sentance. “Sick people would be looked at with pity, as if they would die the next day,” Körner explains. “This is very stressful.” She stresses that critically important medical advancements mean many cancers are now treatable, and survival rates are improving. </p>
<p>Modern chemotherapy,such as,has evolved,with treatments increasingly designed to minimize unpleasant side effects. this progress, however, is not widely known, highlighting the importance of initiatives like World Cancer Day.</p>

<p>World Cancer Day, now in its 26th year, is a global initiative spearheaded by the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC). The UICC aims to raise awareness, improve education, and inspire action to reduce the global burden of cancer. </p>
<p>According to the UICC, nearly 10 million deaths were reported in 2020, making cancer a leading cause of death worldwide. Though, approximately 50% of cancer deaths are preventable through early detection and lifestyle changes. <a href=){kind=link}
World Cancer Day serves as a platform to advocate for increased investment in cancer research, improved access to care, and policies that promote cancer prevention.
