Margo Marrone Resumes Ownership of The Organic Pharmacy
Margo Marrone has bought back The Organic Pharmacy, the London-based health and beauty brand she founded in 2002, resuming full ownership on October 16, theindustry.beauty reported. Marrone originally sold the business to the Italian pharmaceutical group Istituto Ganassini in 2018. At the time of that sale, she told WWD that she needed external resources to expand the self-funded enterprise.
Following the recent transaction, the Ganassini family will maintain its role as the brand’s distribution partner in Italy while shifting its primary business focus toward other pharmaceutical properties. “It is incredibly emotional to return to The Organic Pharmacy and I feel so grateful to be back,” Marrone said. “I’m really looking forward to getting creative again and exploring what comes next for the brand.”
Founding Principles and Retail Expansion
Under renewed ownership, the company plans to prioritize its original pillars of health, detoxification, and lifestyle. The brand’s strategy focuses on the relationship between skin health, internal wellbeing, and healthy aging, combining pharmaceutical expertise with organic ingredients and personalized guidance.

Skincare will function as part of a broader wellness framework that includes nutrition, targeted supplementation, natural remedies, and lifestyle choices. Marrone views longevity as an extension of the brand’s foundational philosophy rather than a new direction. The development strategy also includes plans to expand into professional wellness through dedicated spas and clinics.
The buyback coincides with continued physical retail expansion in the United Kingdom. In January, the brand launched at Marks & Spencer’s Oxford Street store, followed by a subsequent rollout across 43 additional locations. Products are also available at Selfridges and select pharmacies nationwide.
