A Touching Tribute from Domhnall Gleeson

actor Domhnall Gleeson delivered a heartfelt tribute to McAdams, reminiscing about their collaboration on the 2013 romantic comedy About Time. He praised her ability to fully embody her characters, stating, “You make me understand all of them and in this way, you make everything better.” Gleeson also playfully noted that McAdams’ performance in About Time was so convincing, it made him believe in the possibility of time travel.

Gleeson continued, “Every movie, every genre, every character, every co-star, every set, every crew, every room you walk into, you make them all better, and we are very lucky to have you.” He jokingly added, “So while joining the icons immortalised in these streets makes this a pretty cool day for Rachel McAdams, if you ask me, this is also a really cool day for the Hollywood Walk of Fame, because, as usual, Rachel McAdams is about to rock up and make it better.”

Remembering Hollywood Legends

During her acceptance speech, McAdams paid tribute to influential actors who inspired her, including Gena Rowlands, Sam Shepard, and her The Family Stone co-star, the late Diane Keaton. She fondly remembered Keaton’s guidance, sharing that Keaton taught her to “leave everything you’ve got on the table” with each performance, and to approach every role with as much love as possible.

Diane Keaton, known for her roles in The Godfather, Father of the Bride, and Annie Hall, passed away in October 2025 at the age of 79.

From Regina George to Hollywood Star

McAdams first gained widespread recognition for her portrayal of Regina George in the 2004 comedy Mean Girls, alongside Lindsay Lohan. Mean Girls remains a beloved classic of the teen comedy genre.
