MicroStrategy treasury balances show that dollar reserves now virtually offset the software intelligence firm’s 6,75 billion USD debt load, according to corporate disclosures highlighted by BeInCrypto. Following the update, MicroStrategy shares climbed 12% to trade at 138.38 USD at midday on Thursday, easing market anxiety regarding potential forced liquidations of its massive Bitcoin holdings.
MicroStrategy Debt Versus Cash Reserves
According to corporate financial charts and SEC filings, MicroStrategy holds approximately 6,69 Milliarden USD in U.S. dollars against 6,75 Milliarden USD in total debt, leaving a net difference of just 60 Millionen USD. This balance sheet adjustment places the company’s net debt ratio at roughly 0,1%. Consequently, cash reserves nearly neutralize liabilities, keeping the company’s massive treasury of 840.447 BTC almost entirely unencumbered. The surge in equity value clawed back a significant portion of the stock’s losses for 2026, pulling MSTR within 9% of its yearly break-even point during a broader crypto-equity market rally.
Dividend Reserves and Preferred Stock Structure
The centerpiece of this cash accumulation is a dedicated 5,10 Milliarden USD reserve earmarked specifically for dividend and interest obligations, which grew from 4,0 Milliarden USD in early August. According to SEC filings cited by BeInCrypto, the company expanded this capital pool by raising 3,28 Milliarden USD during the month without purchasing any additional Bitcoin. This capital strategy supports STRC, the largest series of preferred stock issued by Strategy, which maintains terms ensuring an annual dividend yield of 12% on a nominal valuation approaching 10 Milliarden USD.

Mitigating Forced Liquidation Risks
Market concerns regarding forced asset sales proved tangible earlier in the year when MicroStrategy liquidated 1.638 BTC at an average price of roughly 64.000 USD per coin in July. That transaction triggered skepticism among analysts over whether the corporate treasury could weather an extended market downturn without sacrificing core assets. With cash reserves now covering nearly all outstanding debt, that liquidation pressure recedes significantly. Executive leadership also recently published a Bitcoin credit risk model mapping out price thresholds where funding obligations take effect.
Accumulation Scale and Market Position
MicroStrategy began accumulating cryptocurrency assets in August 2020 and currently controls approximately one out of every twenty-five coins that will ever exist. Based on prevailing market prices above 80.000 USD per coin, the firm’s total holdings are valued at roughly 67,9 Milliarden USD. However, narrow margins remain because the company acquired its assets at an average cost of 75.419 USD per coin, leaving the overall treasury with a modest profit margin of roughly 4%. Furthermore, preferred shares retain seniority over common stock and demand continuous dividend payouts, while the issuance of new equity to raise capital introduces ongoing dilution risks for existing shareholders.
