Czech Actor Miloslav König Steps Away from Filming for a Career Pause
Czech actor Miloslav König has halted new filming offers through the end of the year to escape a growing sense of routine in his work. König noted that the pause stems from an audiovisual industry effect where recorded work reaches audiences long after its creation, leaving him yearning for greater tranquility within a timelessness bounded by work rather than overrun by it.

The couple is creating a home that respects historic building materials while incorporating modern living standards, having already completed a kitchen tailored to their exact specifications alongside pending work on tiles for a hot-water heat exchanger. König noted that the restoration serves as an adaptation space between the intense public demands of his acting career and a deliberate pursuit of solitude that counters professional empathy-driven dead ends, while his wife brings a steadier flow to the project compared to his own impulses for rapid furniture rearrangements and room clearings that temporarily reintroduce chaos. Preparing for the Upcoming Biographical Series Rekord(wo)man
Next year, audiences will see König in the title role of Record(where)man, a six-part television series detailing the life of Zdena Koubková, an athlete who broke world records in the 1930s before later revealing her intersexuality, ending her sports career, and choosing to live as a man. Preparing for the part required a significant physical transformation, which included a strict athletic regimen of sprinting, high jumping, and long jumping, alongside a complete break from alcohol consumption. König worked with nutritionists and trained under the guidance of Jan Pernica, who previously prepared Václav Neužil for the role of Zátopek. He was also mesmerized by the makeup work of Jana Dopitová, following regular test meetings prior to production.
