Miley Cyrus Hints at Concert Residency After New Album Release

Miley Cyrus is weighing a potential concert residency after a massive surge of ticket demand for two upcoming Los Angeles performances at the Hollywood Bowl.

Massive Hollywood Bowl Demand Sparks Residency Talk

An estimated 1.5 million people attempted to purchase tickets for the two Hollywood Bowl shows. That tidal wave of interest hits a venue holding a capacity of approximately 17,500 people.

During an interview on Apple Music with Zane Lowe, the host suggested that satisfying the immense consumer demand would require a run of 80 shows at the venue. Cyrus scheduled the Hollywood Bowl dates for October 16 and 18, coinciding with the September 18 release of her tenth studio album, Bass Persuades.

Treating Los Angeles Shows as the Ultimate Dress Rehearsal

Cyrus responded to the residency concept by framing the upcoming performances as a functional test. She told Lowe, “This is the ultimate dress rehearsal. I’ve learned now through the queue that my calculations are correct, and people will come to me. I don’t need to drive to you.”

Lowe characterized the shows as proof of concept for a broader long-term arrangement.

Stepping Away From Intensive Travel and Traditional Touring

The potential shift toward a residency model aligns with Cyrus’s stated disinterest in traditional touring. She stepped away from major headlining tours after her 2014 Bangerz run and subsequent festival appearances in 2021 and 2022. Her last major tour concluded over a decade ago.

Prioritizing Sobriety, Rest, and Routine Near Home

Performing in Los Angeles directly supports her recovery and maintenance of sobriety. Keeping a strict routine and staying close to home proved vital for her well-being.

“I chose to do the show at the Hollywood Bowl because I knew that my bed was only going to be like a 10-minute drive home by 11 pm,” Cyrus said. “And a big piece of that puzzle for me is my rest and my recovery. You know, it comes from discipline.”

Rejecting Massive Arena Environments for Safety and Connection

Furthermore, Cyrus expressed an aversion to large-scale arena environments. She noted to Lowe that singing for massive crowds lacks personal connection and safety.

That realization reinforces her clear preference for localized performances over extensive travel itineraries.
