“I am so excited to join the Steps family,” Jennie said of appearing as an animated character in the official music video for “Someone to Hold.” The Blackpink member stars in the visual for the new 3D CG fairy tale feature Steps, which arrives exclusively on Netflix on November 20, Animation Magazine reported.

The singer also praised the film’s characters, saying, “I love how much heart and personality the characters have, and I’m so happy I got to be a little part of their world. I hope you enjoy Steps and ‘Someone to Hold’ as much as I do and I can’t wait for you guys to hear it!” The single is available now on multiple streaming platforms.

Someone to Hold Leads Dance-Focused Soundtrack

Songwriter and producer Justin Tranter described the track as the centerpiece of the film’s musical approach. “The story in Steps lends itself beautifully to a variety of voices and sonics, and the main throughline in the soundtrack is dance music,” Tranter said. “Jennie’s ‘Someone to Hold’ is pure danceable joy.”

Stepsisters Hijack the Royal Ball in New Cinderella Story

The film reimagines the classic fairy tale from the perspective of Cinderella’s stepsisters. Lilith steals the Fairy Godmother’s magic wand and, with her sister Margot, hijacks the Royal Ball, dooming the kingdom to the tyrannical rule of Priscilla. Lilith must then team up with Cinderella to fight biker trolls, outrun evil henchmen and escape the Screaming Woods on a quest to save the kingdom and their relationship.
