Miranda Lambert Headlines Dallas Cowboys Thanksgiving Halftime Show
Miranda Lambert will perform live at AT&T Stadium during the Dallas Cowboys Thanksgiving Day game against the Philadelphia Eagles, marking the 30th consecutive Salvation Army Red Kettle Kickoff halftime show, MusicRow reported. The nationally televised game airs on Fox at 3:30 p.m.
Over the past three decades, the halftime performance has utilized the stage to help the Red Kettle Campaign raise more than $3.4 billion. Reba McEntire headlined the inaugural kickoff show in 1997. Subsequent performers have included Destiny’s Child, Carrie Underwood, the Jonas Brothers, Selena Gomez, Dolly Parton, Luke Combs, Lainey Wilson, and Post Malone.
“There’s something special about how music brings people together, especially when it’s to spread joy and hope to families who need it most,” Lambert said.
Charlotte Jones, chief brand officer and co-owner of the Dallas Cowboys and former national advisory board chairman for The Salvation Army, noted that the halftime kickoff tradition began in the 1990s after Jerry Jones challenged her to inspire fans to care about the team’s off-field impact.
“For 30 years, incredible artists have appeared on our halftime stage to help The Salvation Army bring hope to millions of people in need,” Jones stated.
National Commander Emphasizes Campaign Goals
Commissioner Merle Heatwole, national commander of The Salvation Army, emphasized that the campaign offers a simple way for people to support neighbors in need. He thanked the Dallas Cowboys, the Gene and Jerry Jones family, and Lambert for drawing national attention to the organization’s mission.
Aside from her upcoming Thanksgiving performance, Lambert recently unveiled a project titled Crisco, celebrating the launch with a performance at Nashville venue The Truth. She also maintains scheduled tour dates in California and Arizona.
