Iran’s Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, warned the United States and Israel against resuming war. The warning came in a written statement, following threats from Iran’s enemies of a possible resumption of attacks.
Mojtaba Khamenei’s warning
“If the enemy once again launches a military or terrorist attack, it is the armed forces of the Islamic Republic and the Iranian nation that will determine the time and conditions for ending such attacks,” Khamenei said in a statement posted on the government website.
The remarks came in a reported meeting between Khamenei and senior military commanders, including armed forces chief of staff Ali Abdollahi, army chief Amir Hatami, and Revolutionary Guards commander Ahmad Vahidi.
Diplomatic Action
A Qatari delegation arrived in Tehran on Friday for talks with Iranian officials, after Iran reportedly received a letter from US JD Vance. According to Iranian media, Tehran has not yet responded to the letter.
Qatar is rushing to find a peaceful solution between the US and Iran, after US Donald Trump was said to be preparing a new attack on Iran.
Military Readiness
Khamenei ordered commanders to ensure that “any level or type of threat must be met with an immediate, impactful, and geographically unlimited response.” He also ordered commanders to update Iran’s target list to include “all types of tangible and intangible assets belonging to the American-Zionist enemy.”
The war began on February 28 with a US-Israeli attack on Iran.
Peace Efforts
New diplomatic efforts are underway to prevent a resumption of fighting. However, tensions between Washington and Tehran have not completely subsided.
