Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) to Distribute Food in Monroe County, Michigan in March and April 2026

Monroe County, Michigan residents facing food insecurity will have access to food distributions through the Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) in March and April 2026. The program supplements the diets of low-income individuals and families by providing emergency food assistance at no cost.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for TEFAP, participants must meet specific income guidelines or currently receive benefits from other assistance programs. These include the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Women, Infants, and Children (WIC), the Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP), cash assistance, or Supplemental Security Income (SSI). Income requirements for TEFAP are based on 300% of the federal poverty income guidelines. As of February 22, 2026, this translates to a monthly income limit of $3,913 for a single-person household and $5,288 for a two-person household.

Upcoming Food Distribution Events

Participants are limited to receiving food from one distribution site per quarter. The following events are scheduled throughout Monroe County:

  • March 4, 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM: Dundee United Methodist Church, 645 Franklin St., Dundee
  • March 5, 9:30 AM – 11:00 AM: Bedford Goodfellows at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Community, 8330 Lewis Ave., Temperance
  • March 5, 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM: London Township Hall, 13613 Tuttle Hill Road, Milan
  • March 10 & 24, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Zion Lutheran Church, 8307 Memorial Hwy., Ottawa Lake
  • March 11, 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM: River Park Plaza (residents only)
  • March 11, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Luna Pier Baptist Church, 4265 Luna Pier Road, Luna Pier
  • March 16, 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Woodcraft Square (residents only)
  • March 28, 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM: Lower Light Church Food Closet, 400 E. Elm St., Petersburg
  • April 13, 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM: Redeemer Fellowship, 5303 Evergreen Drive, Monroe
