“Very strange things have happened to me at work, like having arrived at Monte hermoso.it will be destiny, life, I don’t know.I take advantage of it and enjoy it.I’m not going to deny that the final whistle was a relief for me, for the coaching staff, for the girls…”

Those were the first feelings expressed by Atlético Monte Hermoso coach, Martín Berlatto, when the extra final concluded, crowning the albirrojo champion for the seventh consecutive tournament.

Atlético defeated Universitario “A” in a thrilling match (3 to 2), extending a streak that began in 2022 and continues to dominate local hockey. This year, they once again secured both the Apertura and clausura titles of the Gold Cup in the Primera de Damas division.

The victory also marked a personal return for Martín, after a period away from the fields, having joined the club in 2025 to succeed Ricardo Mora.

“This year was a total enjoyment, I was in a place where I always wanted to be; not every coach has the possibility of being in Monte Hermoso; I enjoyed it and I continue to enjoy it. I can’t think of anything else. I hadn’t been involved in hockey for several years, but opportunities arose, they called me, I didn’t hesitate and we finished the year in the best way,” added the coach from Pigüeña.

Monte Crowned Champions After Thrilling Final

The Monte hockey team celebrated a triumphant end to the year, securing the championship title after a hard-fought victory against Universitario. The decisive match, held at the El Nacional court, saw Monte emerge victorious with a 3-2 scoreline.

Throughout the Clausura tournament, Monte dominated the regular phase, boasting an extraordinary record of 9 wins, 2 draws, and only one loss.Thier attacking prowess was evident in their 32 goals scored, while their defense proved formidable, conceding just 8. They navigated the playoffs successfully, defeating Pacífico “A” 3-1 in the semifinals before a narrow 1-0 loss to Uni in the spa, leading to an extra final showdown.

Monte’s success wasn’t limited to the Clausura. They also clinched the Apertura title undefeated, with four wins and two draws, earning the bonus point.

“I am very happy, for the group and personally,” said coach Berlatto. “I think the final unfolded as it should, it was our year. We faced many obstacles, a difficult year, but we always managed to overcome them and get the best out of ourselves.”

Acknowledging the strength of their opponents, Berlatto added, “Universitario is a great rival and has been throughout the year. The games were close and very difficult for both of us. They play very well and have very good players. We had to adapt our strategy slightly due to the absence of Maria emilia (Larsen, who was with Las Leonas).” Berlatto, who previously coached the ABH Major team to their first national medal, praised the team’s adaptability.

The championship-winning match began with a setback as Universitario took an early lead with a goal from Agustina Lértora.Though, Monte demonstrated resilience and ultimately turned the tide to secure the victory.

Carola Dichiara received the Cup from Marcela Domenech (president) and Hugo Castro (vice).

Overcoming obstacles: A Year of Triumph for Monte Hermoso Beach Volleyball

The Monte Hermoso beach volleyball team experienced a year of meaningful challenges and ultimate success, culminating in a championship victory. Despite a turbulent season marked by coaching changes, player injuries, and personal difficulties, the team persevered, demonstrating resilience and a strong team spirit.

The season began with a new coach and physical trainer, compounded by the absence of key players due to injury and personal reasons. Players like Barbi and María Emilia faced setbacks, impacting their availability for crucial matches, including those with Las Leonas and the National League. Though, these obstacles served to strengthen the team’s bond.

A key factor in their success was the emergence of young players from the Quinta division. Despite limited experience in First Division play, they stepped up when called upon, making valuable contributions to the team. This infusion of youth provides a promising outlook for the future, demonstrating the club’s ability to nurture talent.

The decision to take on the role of coach wasn’t without its risks. After being approached by Alejandro, the coach requested 24 hours to discuss the opportunity with his family. With their support, and the ability to resolve some work commitments, he accepted, recognizing the importance and prestige of monte Hermoso. He acknowledged initial skepticism but embraced the challenge, finding a welcoming and supportive environment within the club.

The coach praised the players’ receptiveness, the quality of the staff, and the positive relationship with the youth teams. He understood the expectation to win, inherent in the club’s history, and relished the opportunity to overcome adversity.

The team’s composition has shifted, with fewer of the historic players remaining, but the winning tradition continues. The newer players understand the legacy of Monte Hermoso and the expectation to succeed. The coach noted a unique “mystique” within the club, a force that propelled the team forward even in difficult situations.

During the extra final, despite not securing the win on their home court, the team traveled to Bahía Blanca as underdogs, facing a challenging environment. Despite a slow start, they rallied, fueled by the adversity and a determination to overcome the odds, ultimately securing the championship. This victory underscores the team’s ability to rise to the occasion and deliver when it matters most.

Argentina’s Milei announces New Economic Measures

Argentina’s Milei Announces New Economic Measures

Buenos Aires – President Javier Milei unveiled a new package of economic measures on December 15, 2025, aimed at stabilizing Argentina’s struggling economy. The proclamation comes as inflation remains stubbornly high and the country grapples with a significant debt burden.

Key components of the plan include further cuts to government spending, a restructuring of social programs, and steps to encourage foreign investment. Milei’s management believes these measures are crucial to curbing inflation and restoring economic growth.

“we are facing a difficult situation, but we are resolute to turn things around,” Milei stated in a televised address. “These measures are not popular, but they are necessary.”

The announced cuts will affect various government ministries and agencies. Details released indicate reductions in personnel and operational budgets. The government also plans to streamline social welfare programs, focusing assistance on the most vulnerable populations. Critics argue these cuts will disproportionately harm low-income families.

To attract foreign investment, the government intends to reduce bureaucratic hurdles and offer tax incentives. Milei’s team hopes this will stimulate economic activity and create jobs. though, some analysts question whether these incentives will be enough to overcome Argentina’s history of economic instability.

The reaction to the announcement has been mixed. Supporters praise Milei’s bold approach, while opponents warn of potential social unrest. Labor unions have already threatened protests, and opposition parties have condemned the cuts as austerity measures that will exacerbate poverty.

Economists are divided on the likely impact of the measures. Some believe they could pave the way for a lasting recovery, while others predict they will deepen the recession. The success of Milei’s plan will likely depend on a number of factors, including the government’s ability to maintain social order and secure international support.

the coming months will be critical as Argentina navigates this period of economic reform. It remains to be seen whether Milei’s gamble will pay off and lead to a brighter future for the country.
